The short version
The game runs on your device. There are no ads, no purchases, no accounts and no tracking.
Two things ever leave the device: crash reports (technical details that help us fix bugs, no personal information), and, only if a grown-up turns it on, World Scores (a made-up player name and game scores for the online scoreboard).
We never sell information, never show ads, and never use anything for marketing.
Who we are
Mimmaids vs Tittles ("Mimmaids", "the app", "we") is an arcade game for children, available for iPhone, iPad and Android. It is made and operated by Moody Bear Trading LLC. You can reach us at support@mimmaids.com.
Information that stays on the device
To make the game work, the app saves a few things only on your device: the name your child types for their mimmaid, best scores, star ratings, a saved game to resume, and sound settings. This information is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a technical report so we can find and fix the problem. We use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) as our service provider for this. A report contains:
- the app version, device model and operating-system version;
- technical details of the error (for example, which part of the code failed);
- what the game was doing at the time (for example, the stage number and game mode);
- a random installation identifier, so we can tell whether a bug affects one device or many.
Crash reports do not include your child's name, World Scores name, contacts, photos or location. We have set Sentry not to store IP addresses. We use crash reports only to keep the app working ("support for the internal operations" of the app), and Sentry may use them only to provide that service to us. Sentry deletes them automatically within 90 days.
World Scores (optional online scoreboard)
World Scores lets players see their best scores next to other players' scores. It is off until a parent or other adult turns it on inside the app, after answering a question meant for grown-ups.
What we collect when World Scores is on
- A player name your child makes up. We ask players not to use their real name, block names containing more than two numbers (so no phone numbers or birthdays), and automatically filter out unkind words. Any player can report a name; reported names are hidden and reviewed by a person, and names that break the rules are removed.
- Game scores: the score, game mode, how far the player got, play time and number of continues.
- A random player code the app creates, so the scoreboard knows which scores belong to which player. We store it only in scrambled (hashed) form.
We do not collect email addresses, real names, phone numbers, photos, location, contacts or advertising identifiers, and we do not store IP addresses. World Scores has no chat, messaging, friend lists or profiles. Players cannot contact each other.
How we use it
Only to run the scoreboard: showing player names and best scores, preventing cheating and spam, handling reports about names, and letting a player see their own rank.
Who can see it
Other Mimmaids players see a player name and that player's best scores. Nothing else is shown. The information is stored on our own server in the United States and is not shared with anyone.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No selling or renting of information to anyone.
- No in-app purchases.
- No analytics about how your child plays.
- No links to social media, and no way for players to message each other.
How long we keep information
| Information | Kept until |
|---|---|
| World Scores player name, scores and player code | You delete it in the app, you ask us to delete it, or 12 months pass without the player using World Scores, whichever comes first |
| Reports other players make about a name | 90 days after we handle the report (or when either player is deleted) |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days |
| Information saved only on the device | You delete the app |
Children's privacy & your rights as a parent
Mimmaids is made for children, and we follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect only what the game needs. World Scores collects a made-up name, scores and a random code, and is designed so that the name cannot be used to contact a child.
As a parent or guardian you can, at any time:
- Delete your child's World Scores name and every score: open World Scores → Turn off & delete in the app. This takes effect immediately.
- Review what we hold, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@mimmaids.com. Tell us the World Scores player name. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Stop further collection by leaving World Scores off, or turning it off.
If you live in the UK, the European Union or elsewhere with similar laws, you have the same rights to access and erase information. Email us and we will help.
Security
All information sent by the app travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our server stores player codes in hashed form, is accessible only to us, and is kept up to date. We review our security practices every year.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect from children, we'll ask for a grown-up's OK in the app before it applies.
